I absolutely adore Kiara Sky Dip products! I’ve been using them for about three years total now, and I love the quality, the results, and all of the different colors available. It’s by far my favorite dip powder out of any other powders out there. I’ve tried quite a few on the market and this one is always my go to. I bought this kit to teach myself how to do my own nails at home. I thoroughly love anything I can do myself at home. My nails tend to crack easily, gel doesn't always keep them sturdy and going to the salon every 2 weeks to get them done (gel or dip) is not in my budget. So I bought this kit to give my nails some strength while also looking great. Plus I suck at polish. I always get it everywhere when using my non-dominant hand to paint. The included instructions are pretty basic and give you a step by step guide that you need to be successful. It also helps that Kiara Sky has a YouTube channel to show you exactly how to do the dip manicure with the starter kit so with the included instructions and YT video, it's pretty fool proof. My first manicure was good, not great but for my very first attempt, I'd say it went pretty well! There are a few tools you will need that are not included in the kit and that includes a buffer block, nail file, manicure sticks and a fluffy brush to brush off excess powder left on your fingers (I used a clean makeup brush that I no longer use and it worked fine). I also like that the kit includes a brush saver to clean the polishes included and extra brush heads incase you need to replace them (This was nice as I pulled the bristles out of the topcoat head by mistake when wiping it off after using the brush saver). Overall, this kit is awesome. It takes a few tries to get used to but once you get the hang of it, you fly through it!Talia D.

The prep, activator and base coat all work great, but the topcoat bottle I got is kind of frustrating to work with. It dries so quickly that the product on the brush hardens before I can do all 10 fingers, so it leaves only a few fibres free and the rest a big chunk. Then when it dries on the nail the topcoat dries matte in some places and has a shrink-wrap appearance in others. I don't know if I've just gotten a faulty product or I'm doing something wrong, would love some help. Other than that, the three other bottles are fantastic.Maddison K.

I am disappointed because I got this for my 11 year old because kids always want to be like their mommie. I get dipped nails when I go to the nail salon so I thought this would be something similar. Wrong was I. There is no powder. I mean you can buy some, separately. Had I known that, I would have selected something else. Well we tried it anyways and outside of being disappointed about the powder, it turned out ok. As long as you follow the directions, you should not have any problems using this set. As far as a kid (my 11 year old), I recommend that a parent or someone older be there with them while using this to provide some guidance. They can do it on their own but at the same time you want to make sure things do not dry up or get a little too messy. Each bottle is color coded which is a plus. I like the fact that this was done. Overall, I think this is an ok set, they should look into adding the powder though. It does not have to be anything large.MizzLBC

I have been using this product for a few months now and I love it. It's so easy and stress free. I love being able to do my own nails from home but still get a salon look. I have two issues with this product that is making me go to another brand. 1 even when your super careful to not drip around the top of the bottle they are very hard to open the next time. The other is the brushes are awful. They get hard after just a couple uses sometimes even in the middle of using them making the mani awful. When I have tried to use the brush restorer, when i go to dry off the bristles and feel them to make sure they are soft they pull right out. Even when I am gentle. This dipping system is a huge YES! it costs exactly the same amount as one professional dip manicure and if you are patient and willing to learn a new skill you will save yourself hundreds of dollars with this investment. Because I do have a track record of painting outside the lines with regular nail polish, I was nervous that this would prove disastrous in doing my own dip. However, the consistency of the liquid bonders etc. are very thin meaning they were incredible easy to control. My recommendation to anyone looking to start doing DIY dip nails is to also invest in a nail drill, and a cheap nail brush (that won’t loose its hairs) to brush access powders. I also purchased nail caps to help ease the process of removing my dip manicures, (I absolutely detest sticking my fingers in a bowl of acetone. I much prefer clamping the cotton to my nails). Finally, the best pro tip I can give is to not worry about going overboard when your painting the liquid steps onto your nails. Recalling how quickly the women at my salon painted on step 1, I attempted to create the thinnest layer I could on my first attempt of my first couple nails. That method proved to be a fail and the dip spread out unevenly across the nail and I had to start over again. On the rest of my hand I made sure to make sure I made a solid wet layer across the nail, and each time I pulled my perfectly coated finger out of the powder I wanted to scream with joy! While this product may look intimidating, it really is quiet easy. I should mention that you can also mix and Match whatever brands of powder you want to use with this system as well. I would recommend it to anyone who loves dip but runs on a tight budget. Attached is a photo of my 1st attempt with this system. I've never had my nails done at a salon, so I've never had any exposure to the process of gel, acrylic or dip nails. I've just always used plain ol' nail polish, but I'm very active and finally got fed up with even the "best" quality nail polishes chipping within 2 days of application. Enter: Dipwell. Compared to some other kits and brands I've seen, Dipwell is way more affordable. I can't speak to any quality differences among brands though since this is my first ever experience with dip powders. I had to do 2-3 full applications before I feel like I got a hang of the application techniques, so if you're used to getting dip nails done at the salon, this will likely be easier for you (assuming you pay attention to the process)! Even after the 2nd time and still looking a little sloppy in places, it still looked better than most regular nail polish applications. By my 3rd application, I was able to create cute ombre accent nails, so you can learn pretty quickly. One thing to note is that this can get MESSY (or maybe I'm still bad at this…), especially with all the filing and buffing residue. Clean-up is fairly easy, but as a total noob to acrylic systems of any kind, I didn't expect the amount of mess it can create. The instruction pamphlet is pretty clear, but I also watched lots of tutorial videos to get a more complete picture of the process. The colors are beautiful, but I wish there were better swatches and photos on hands on the website, because some colors are not well-represented by the single swatch on the website. Also, it would be great to see each color on different skin tones! Overall, the learning curve is short, the kit is easy to use, and I love that the powders are affordable. This system is great and if you’re thorough and diligent with the instructions your manicure will look great and last. I bought this when there was not a build your own option, and was disappointed to find that the naturale colors included were not my style. The lighter color is filled with glitter/sparkles which surprised me- I avoided the glitter set because I don’t like glitter- and the darker color is sort of a deep pink. I bought a kit for my friend a couple months after my purchase and discovered the build your own kit which was such a great option and she was very happy. Bummed it wasn’t available when I bought mine. Pros: great kit with good instructions, online videos are a bonus, and cruelty free (which is why I bought this brand) Cons: the pre-selected color kits might disappoint, the nail files are not labeled/ there are no instructions for which nail file is which grit- you just have to guess.Jennice O.

I was pleasantly surprised when I used this powder and thought I was going to have a black and white marbled look, but actually ended up with a black and silver marbled look. If there is white glitter in this powder, you can barely see it. The silver and black marble turned out quite beautiful when I paired it with a black tip for a french manicure. This is only the second time I’ve done my nails and the first time I used this color so my nails don’t look great. But I’m learning. The purple is very bright and noticeable but still soft and not garish. I paired with black ice glitter for Halloween kinda vibe. I’d say working with the glitter is hard. It doesn’t lay flat. There is no utensil offered by kiara sky to dust on glitter. You either pour or dip. I did see some people use a tiny pharmacy powder spoon they order off Amazon to do the sprinkling on bit. I would recommend that. Otherwise you don’t get much of an ombré effect. It’s hard to do 2 colors fast before the base dries and the powder doesn’t stick. I’m assuming it just takes practice. These are my nails grown out a week. I had to file down the nail area around the cuticle cuz I made them too thick so the color looks lighter there cuz of my file job after I’d already done top coat. It was such an easy product to use! Simple application and its difficult to make mistakes. I’ve never had dip done or seen it done. I looked up a few videos on YouTube and just read the instructions. It was so easy and my results were fantastic! It also didn’t stink at all. Like when you get real close you can smell it but it will not stink up your room. My only note would be to have some kind of brush on hand for the excess powder. They provide a sponge in the kit but it doesn’t work very well for the nooks and crannies.KTraver

The instructions were very easy to following and I like that it gives you two extra brushes just in case there is user error along the way. Only different I noticed from the salon dip nails I usually get was how they wore. The top coat started to crack on a few of the nails after about 2-3 days, but I am pretty hard on my hands. I'm honestly glad that it happened though because I was so curious about how they would come off. Removal was a breeze, minimal soaking to take off. Which made it simple to fix the ones that had cracked slightly. I was able to easily follow the directions. The results for my first try were pretty good! It would have been even better if I had used the stick to clean up my cuticles. It’s pretty darn close to a salon quality gel manicure. I am on day 5 and they are still absolutely perfect. No chipping or splitting. The color is a perfect pale pink that I could never achieve with just a polish. Would be see through and streaky! This stuff is great. I recently stumbled upon DipWell when looking for new powders. Ive been wanting a good clear dip powder that I can use on my natural nails just to add some strength. I bit my nails all of my life until the last few years, and have been really having fun experimenting with nail art and different things. I have found dip powders to be my favorite thing to add strength to my nails without damaging them. That being said, I am officially obsessed with DipWell. I tried this on bare nails, and it’s wonderful. The powder is so fine and it’s super clear. I have had problems where my ‘clear’ powder doesn’t end up being clear, and ruining the entire look. This stuff is CLEAR, and you can buff with no scratches or cloudiness (don’t use a super abrasive buffer!). I LOVE it. The BEST clear powder I have used. I paired it on top of GL-45, their fine Holo glitter, and it’s AWESOME. I use to spend $45-$50 alone on a SNS dip powder nails at the salon and now that I discovered how easy and AFFORDABLE it is to do your own nails at home… GAME CHANGER. This is an amazing brand and almost every Ulta store I tried to go to for the color white was absolutely sold out! I got really lucky and found it at a location I was randomly near by. Overall I like this product. I use it on natural nails. Its like having armour on my nails so they don't break. They look really nice and there is no chipping like gel nail or nail polish. What I don't like is, it takes forever to take off. You have to soak it off (30+ mins) which is horrible for my nails. It takes a good amount of time to remove and redo nails. And it is a messy process. I have learned some tricks through trial and error. Wipe off extra dust, once dry, between each dip, I personally dip 3 times, anymore makes my nails look fake. To keep the brush from hardening I put it back in the bottle immediately then dip my nail. I also use a crystal nail file and a buffer to smooth any bumps. I don't care for the top coat included so I use a different one. Overall it's a good product, but I will keep looking for something not so difficult.Em

But these colors do NOT blend well, and what I mean is when mixing 2 colors you don't get a solid purple or pink or whatever color you are trying to achieve. You can clearly see the 2 different color powders you mixed. The light pink looked like white with red specs in it. The purple looked like blue with red specs in it. Super easy to apply and buff down. I don’t have a drill so some products are challenging to even out/buff down but this product works really well and is realistic for at home use without all the extra tools. The color is super pigmented and the color options are great. Will definitely be purchasing again.amanda.s
